Osimo

Perched on two flanking hills dotting the Marche region, Osimo is a splendid city of art and history, located a few kilometres from the sea and the beautiful Conero Riviera.

The town of the “Headless”. A selfie next to these beheaded statues can be fun and tens are stories that try to justify this strange archaeological find that you can visit in the main old town. Many populations have lived in these lands, from the Picens to the Greek-Siculi, from the Celts to the Romans, who made Osimo great by naming it a ‘colony’ and endowing it with those historic walls that still today are a boast among the cities of the Marches.

Walking along the main avenue in the historical center you are completely surrounded by imposing stately buildings, an elegant theatre, shops and sophisticated cafés that enliven the village. Osimo is also famous for its underground Caves of the Cantinone and the Caves of Piazza Dante. It is like a sister town that develops underground with ancient aqueducts, caves and passages carved into the sandstone and enigmatic high reliefs offering a mysterious adventure while visiting.
